About Ready for the World

Victoria Thompson is the founder of Ready for the World who's backed by an amazing team of leaders and volunteers across the United States.

Victoria came up with the idea to start a nonprofit and the first program, Afternoon T, after attending her first formal tea hosted by her friend and neighbor. The experience left her feeling special and connected to other women in the community. It reminded her of the support she received while attending Bethune-Cookman University, where several mentors invested in making sure she knew how to handle herself in the workforce, including table etiquette. Inspired to help other individuals and be a mentor for her daughter, Sara, Victoria created Ready for the World in 2020.
